What is a Family Liaison Officer?

As a Family Liaison Officer (FLO), I am here to help, support and offer advice for parents and carers who have any worries or concerns about their children, school life or personal circumstances. I offer the promise of a listening ear, appropriate support and signposting for those in need.

Issues that I can support families with include:

o   Attendance and lateness

o   Children with anxiety

o   Positive, assertive parenting approaches

o   Concerns about children’s behaviour

o   Supporting families to implement new routines

o   Sleep worries

o   Children with sensory issues

o   Helping families access additional support outside of the school

o   Assistance during difficult times such as those finding themselves in abusive environments and supporting those encountering bereavements

o   Challenges encountered amongst split family homes
