PE at Bishop Bronescombe

Mr Oliver Deadman

Class Teacher and PE Coordinator

I began my teaching career at Penrice Secondary School, after completing a Sports Development degree at Marjon University where I developed many of the skills and knowledge that have shaped my approach to teaching PE. Sport has always been a huge part of my life, and I have been fortunate to compete at a high level in football, representing Cornwall at youth level and playing semi-professionally for local clubs such as St Blazey, St Austell, and Newquay.
Beyond football, I have always enjoyed challenging myself in different sports, including tennis and cross-country. More recently, I have taken up golf, which has given me a new perspective on skill development and perseverance in sport.
I am passionate about the role PE plays in developing not only physical fitness but also key life skills such as teamwork, resilience, and determination. My aim is to inspire students to find enjoyment in sport and physical activity, helping them build confidence and a lifelong appreciation for an active lifestyle.
